What Is Pueblo del Mar’s History?

Tamarindo real estate first exploded just before the sub-prime mortgage crisis of 2008. Developers were flocking to the area and prices on many properties doubled in less than two years.

There was lots of talk about Costa Rica being “The Switzerland of the Americas.”

Two real estate developers, Philippe Bouali and Stephan Denizot, pooled their skills to put together Pueblo Colonial, on a lot adjacent to another colonial style home built by Philippe, where his family lived for a number of years.

The inspiration for the property came from

What Does Pueblo Colonial Mean?

“Colonial Town” sounds much less interesting but that’s what it means.

The architectural style was developed from the developers’ frequent visits to Granada, Nicaragua. They brought back a number of architectural pieces such as the fountain.

Spanish tile roofs, stucco sides, lots of columns, and mosaic tile floors are some of the characteristics.

What Are the Characteristics of Pueblo Colonial?

The village consists of 10, 2-bedroom villas. There is also a small apartment above a mini-commercial space.

The villas all have porches and balconies that look out into a well-manicured garden.

They also share access to a nice glass tile pool.

What Are the Types of Pueblo Colonial Rentals?

You’ll find that most of the Pueblo Colonial owners are foreigners who use their properties for vacations. A few owners live on the property full-time. For the rest of the units, there’s a nice mix of long-term tenants and vacation rentals.

Pueblo Colonials’s owners are very strict about keeping a family-friendly environment, so if you’re thinking about renting in the area and wanting to listen to loud music or party late, there are better options at other properties.
