 | | Playa Carrillo |
Playa Carrillo can best be described as a picturesque, white, chalky sand beach straight out of a limited edition calendar. The beach is found in a large bay that provides shelter for many boats including sports fishing vessels. Its climate is very hot and dry from December through April, and the rest of the year mostly humid and wet. Its shores run 3km in length bordered by coconut trees, and in the background forested hills and cliffs overlook the bay. Carrillo is conveniently located 8km (5mi) southeast of Sámara , and transportation between Carrillo and Sámara has been drastically improved over the past few years and is now separated by a well paved road that winds between these two beach towns.
 | | Playa Carrillo | Playa Carrillo is unique in that it remains secluded and practically untouched by large hotels and restaurants along its crescent shaped bay and palm tree-lined shores. The sectors of Carrillo that are developed are home to hotels such as Hotel El Sueño Tropical and geared towards international tourists. | | Playa Carrillo | Playa Carrillo is significantly less developed than its up-and-coming neighbor, Sámara, to the north. This makes Carrillo a great getaway spot, perfect for sunbathing during the morning, tranquil afternoons sipping coffee, and breathtaking sunsets from atop the hills of Carrillo village. Although beachfront properties are not available currently in Carrillo, ocean view properties can be found along with properties near the moorings, and ideal location for a fisherman or water sports enthusiast. |
